El Rancho is a charter school located in Anaheim Hills, Anaheim, California. It is part of the Orange Unified School District. The average annual enrollment is around 1,050 students. The school mascot is a coyote. School motto. ."Have a good day, or not, the choice..is yours."

Achievements

Also, El Rancho's Science Olympiad team has excelled in competition, achieving the distinction of having gone to the national tournament for nine years in a row, from 1997 to 2005. El Rancho's Science Olympiad Team placed 8th out of 60 other schools in the country. They have been in the top ten 10 out of 12 years. Musical Theatre

El Rancho also has a very talented Musical Theatre group led by Ms. Pitzak. The young performers have three different plays every school year: a Patriotic show, a Broadway Dinner Theatre, and a Star Search show(talent show). Last year's Broadway show was Disney's "High School Musical", while this year's Broadway show was Disney's "Mulan". This year,(2008), they performed Legally Blonde. Every year, the performers are invited to New York and Washington D.C., one time they even went to Japan!

Music

El Rancho Charter School also has a lot to offer in the music department. The school offers courses in beginning band, intermediate band, concert(advanced band), percussion, guitar, and strings all taught by Mrs. Sandy Streeter. The different courses practice a lot and go out to many concerts and performances. Highlights in the musical department are concerts such as the winter concert and performing at Knott's Berry Farm.

Dress Code

In the year of 2008 only girls will be forced to wear American Casual shorts as part of the uniform. These shorts have an ER (standing for El Rancho)on the bottom left leg so that the shorts or bermudas can't be tailored or hemmed in any way. This new uniform code was brought on form the previous years students shorts being inappropriate(too short). The school uniform is a polo shirt and navy blue pants. School uniform colors come in Grey, Green and Burgandy. Only El Rancho sweatshirts are allowed. School colors are green and white as are the colors of the P.E. uniform.

2005 Computer Hack attack

In the spring of 2005, a student by the name of David Tena uploaded a Trojan horse into the public computers located at the school library which quickly spread and corrupted at least 20 hard drives causing significant financial damage. He was caught by a fellow student who reported the attack to the school administration. During the investigation the administrators found a website David created which attacked and slandered the teachers he despised.Fact|date=August 2008

El Rancho provides many sports including: Track and Field, Flag Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Cross Country, Tennis, Softball, and Basketball.

Last year in 2007-2008 one of four seventh grade boys basketball teams beat teams from other schools in tournaments by an average of more than 15 points. The starting 5 for this team consisted of Jon Montgomery, Anmol, Josh Kim, Rudi Dmitri, and Hasan Makda. The team went through two tounaments and finished with a record of 6-0. They would have finished 8-0 but their second tournament was rained out.
