Uroš Lajovic (born
July 4 ,1944 inLjubljana ) graduated composition andconducting from the Music Academy ofLjubljana and received his master’s degree at the Music Academy inVienna where he studied under the tuition ofHans Swarowski . Lajovic also attendedmaster class es at theMozarteum inSalzburg , where he studied withBruno Maderna .Career
Mr. Lajovic was an assistant conductor (1972-1978) and chief conductor (1978-1991) of the
Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra , chief conductor of theZagreb Symphony Orchestra (1979-1981), founder and conductor of the chamber orchestraSlovenicum in Ljubljana (since 1988), and was chief conductor of theBelgrade Philharmonic Orchestra from 2001 to 2006.As a guest conductor, Lajovic conducted such orchestras as:
Munich Philharmonic Orchestra ,Berlin Radio Orchestra ,RIAS Sinfonietta ,Radio Leipzig Orchestra ,Suddeutscher Rundfunk Orchestra ,Bach Kollegium Munich ,Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg ,Moscow State Orchestra ,Prague Philharmonics ,RTV Katowize Orchestra ,Bern Symphony Orchestra ,Goettingen Orchestra ,Belgian National Orchestra ,Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra .Teaching career
Uroš Lajovic has been teaching conducting at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna since 1990.

Lajovic was awarded numerous awards including the Vienna Music Academy Award (1971) and 2nd Prize Premio Guido Cantelli at the Teatro alla
