- Kazi Syed Karimuddin
Kazi Syed Karimuddin MA, LLB (
19 July 1899 ,Yavatmal District ,Maharashtra -14 November 1977 ) was a member of theConstituent Assembly of India that framed theIndian Constitution .The son of Kazi Syed Nasiruddin and Dayanath Begum, he studied at the
Aligarh Muslim University founded bySir Syed Ahmed Khan . Acriminal law yer "par excellence", he was a prominent member of theCongress party .As well as participating in the Constitutent Assembly that framed the constitution for independent
India from1947 to1950 , he was a member of theMadhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly until1952 (at that time Madhya Pradesh was known as theCentral Province ). Following that he was a member of theRajya Sabha (the upper house of theIndian Parliament ) from1954 to1958 .He had three sons and five daughters. His sons-in-law include Syed Mukassir Shah, former chairman of the
Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council andJustice M.M. Qazi , former chairman of theMaharashtra Administrative Council and retired judge of theBombay High Court External links
