Nick Tanner (born Bristol 24 May 1965) is a former footballer who played non league football for Mangotsfield United before playing professionally for Bristol Rovers, Liverpool, Norwich City and Swindon Town. He started professional life as a central midfield player at Bristol Rovers before being signed by Liverpool,and was then converted to a central defender.

Tanner joined Liverpool from Bristol Rovers F.C. and had a short spell on loan at Norwich City in 1990 where he made six appearances. He returned to Liverpool and played 59 games for the club scoring one goal V Everton In 1991 before retiring through a back injury in 1994.

Since retiring, Tanner has been a coach and/or scout at a series of non-league clubs including Almondsbury Town, Mangotsfield United, Roman Glass St George and Wotton Rovers F.C. In November 2009 he was appointed manager of Hellenic West League side Winterbourne United F.C..[1] Tanner quit Winterbourne in August 2011 however after a poor start to their Hellenic West season.[2]
