Benham Lock is a lock on the
Kennet and Avon Canal , betweenKintbury and Newbury. It is located belowMarsh Benham , but in thecivil parish ofEnborne , in the English county ofBerkshire .Benham Lock was built between
1718 and1723 under the supervision of the engineerJohn Hore of Newbury. The canal is administered byBritish Waterways . The lock has a rise/fall of 6 ft 3 in (1.9 m).
