Frank Nagai had his major debut in 1954 when he was discovered by composer
Tadashi Yoshida . He had many hit songs such as "Yurakucho De Aimasyo", " Tokyo Night Club", "Kimi Koishi", and "Omae ni". He was also in motion pictures, and was featured in the film "Nishi Ginza Eki Mae" and sang the title song for it as well. He became a very famous singer in Japan. And he discoveredKazuko Matsuo , a famous female singer in later years. The two were often partnered in duets.His singer activity was favorable, but he attempted
suicide inOctober 21 ,1985 . He tried to hang himself, distressed that his lover bore a child.He escaped death, but the attempted suicide left him with permanent brain damage. He has never recovered.
