Early life
He spent most of his childhood studying at St. George's School, a missionary school located in the heart of Brunei's capital,
Bandar Seri Begawan . He later went on to study atMurdoch University , Perth, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Studies.wimming career
Sei Wee's swimming career began when he joined the National Swimming Scheme Training Programme for junior swimmers when he was 10 years old. He was first coached by Victor Tan, who had previously been the coach for the Malaysian State of
Sarawak . It was under Victor Tan's tutelage that he began to excel at his favoured sport. He was the first Bruneian to win a swimming medal of any colour at the South East Asian Games, when at only 18 he won the gold medal in his pet event, the 100mBreaststroke at the1999 Southeast Asian Games SEA Games hosted inBrunei . He later went on to win three consecutive medals in the event, also managing to smash the event record at his second attempt in the 2001Kuala Lumpur SEA Games. He is also the only swimmer to have swam in the Asian andCommonwealth Games where he failed to make the finals however. He would have swam in the 2004 Olympics inGreece had he not injured himself during a weight training session in the gym just two weeks before he was due to fly off toAthens .
