Sunbeam Television Corporation is a broadcasting company based in Miami, Florida, owned by Edmund N. ("Ed") Ansin. While the company only has three stations in its family, these stations are usually highly rated. In Boston, WHDH is usually second behind WCVB-TV, except at 11:00 P.M., WBZ is number one, followed by WHDH. However, WLVI is far behind WFXT on their news at 10:00, lower than that of the previous owner, Tribune.

Sunbeam Television was founded in 1962, when they acquired WCKT-TV in Miami (now WSVN) from the Cox and Knight publishing families, whose company, Biscayne Television Corporation, lost its license. Sunbeam was acquired by Ansin in 1983.

WCKT-TV/WSVN was Sunbeam's lone property until 1993, when they acquired Boston television station, WHDH-TV, from New England Television.

On September 14, 2006, it was announced that Boston's CW affiliate, WLVI-TV, would be sold by the Tribune Company to Sunbeam for 113.7 million dollars. The sale was approved in late November of 2006, and Sunbeam took control of the station on December 18, 2006.
