Lisa Burke (born
4 February ,1977 ) is aSky News weather forecaster. She was born and lived in Killeshin, near the town ofCarlow ,Ireland until she was 10, when her family moved toEssex .Burke's father was Pipe Major of the Killeshin Pipe Band. The eldest of three siblings, she stills performs with her younger sister Dr Toni Burke on occasions, as well as with the BBC Symphony Chorus in the Proms at the
Royal Albert Hall and at The Barbican.Burke sang with Cambridge University Choir while she was studying, graduating with a first class Masters degree (MSci) in Natural Sciences in 1999. She was ranked second in the university, won two university prizes and was made a scholar of New Hall.
She gave up the opportunity to start a Ph.D in October 2000, aged 23, to work at Sky News, where she says the job of weather presenter suits her with the mix of personality and science it entails.
In October 2001 Lisa was voted 'sexiest weather girl of all time' by a Powergen poll of 1000 men - beating

Burke also enjoys swimming, jogging and dancing and has trained in Irish, tap and salsa dancing. She completed the
London Marathon in 2005. She has had lessons infencing andkick-boxing .References
