Košická Polianka

Košická Polianka ( 1335 "Lengenfolua", 1337 "Lengen", 1427 "Lengenfalva", 1519 "Lengelfalva", 1630 "Lengyelfalva") ( _hu. Lengyelfalva) is a village and large municipality in Košice-okolie District in the Kosice Region of eastern Slovakia.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1335 when it belonged to Trstené pri Hornáde's Lords (Drugeth and Cudar families). After it began a Košice 's town dominion and successively it belonged to Palasthy family. In 1337 it passed to Krásna nad Hornádom’s abbey. According to legends, it seems that the village was funded by Polish settlers.

Geography

The village lies at an altitude of 195 metres and covers an area of 8.216 km².It has a population of about 90 people.
