Stop Exploitation Now

Stop Exploitation Now (SEN) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the alleviation of poverty, elimination of the exploitation and abuse of women, children and the disabled in South East Asia. SEN is based in Seattle, Washington and was founded in 2005.

It was started by a group of friends who met three little girls in Cambodia who really inspired them to do more to help support human rights in developing countries. The first was a 9 year old caring for her mother who had been severely burned in an acid attack; the second was an orphan who was very ill with HIV/AIDS; the third was a little girl living at a rescue center for children who had been sexually exploited and prostituted in Cambodia. All three little girls are so strong and inspiring. SEN was started to help children like them so they did not have to experience such hardships.

SEN is now working in 4 areas Anti-Trafficking, Acid Burn Survivor Support, Basic Needs, and Community Development. They have built houses, helped vulnerable young women and disabled individuals start businesses, funded clean drinking water for hundreds, provided social service support and food and housing for acid burn survivors, funded social workers to support young boys who have been molested, provided laptop computers and internet access to caseworkers and human rights attorneys working to protect children, funded school tuition fees, funded community toilets, provided school lunches to Burmese refugee children, provided childcare for the babies of young women formerly involved in prostitution and helped sick individuals access much needed medical care.
