Penelope (band)

Penelope was a Quebec punk band formed in 1999 and dissolved in 2003.

History

At the beginning of 1999, Francis Bédard, Julie Berthold and Eric Roberge formed the band. They had a certain success with the remake "Rémi" and their songs "Rien à comprendre" and "Pawn shop". They sold more than 5000 copies of their first album with the help of the label Union Label Group. Their second album was recorded in Washington D.C. at the famous Inner Ear Studios.In 2003, the band broke up. Eric and Julie formed Eric Panic. Francis joined definitively, with his cousin, the band Les Pistolets Roses.

Anecdote

* The song "Rémi" is a remake of the anime's french theme of the 80's. Since the band has changed a few lyrics, the anime's creators has asked them to remove the song from their album. That's why the song only appears on the first disc imprint series.
