"Keep This Fire Burning" is a song by Robyn, released as the first single from her third album "Don't Stop The Music". Robyn's version of "Keep This Fire Burning" was not released in the UK, leading to UK soul singer Beverley Knight to cover it. Robyn's single was released in 2002 in Sweden and was a massive hit there, peaking inside the top 3. The song was also released as a single in Australia under the name "By Your Side", due to the Australian bush fires which were happening at the time.

UK soul singer Beverley Knight released "Keep This Fire Burning" as the third and final single from her fourth studio album, "Affirmation". "Keep This Fire Burning" served as a compromise between Beverley and her record company over the final tracklisting of "Affirmation". Parlophone saw it as a track which would help propel Knight back into the mainstream. She obliged, recorded the track in Sweden with Remee and original producer GHOST, and in return was left with her desired album track listing. It was the final song recorded for the album.

"Keep This Fire Burning" was a massive airplay hit for Knight, peaking inside the UK airplay top 5, her highest charting single in the UK airplay chart to date. The single became her 6th Top 20 and 12th Top 40 solo single in the UK, reaching #16.
