Estes caught the acting bug while training to be a
stunt double . One of his first acting jobs was in the daytime drama "Days of Our Lives " playing Glenn Gallagher (1986–1987). He later gained widespread recognition for his role as Sergeant Chris Lorenzo in "Silk Stalkings " (1990–1995), half of the "dynamic duo" alongsideMitzi Kapture .He had some guest appearances on Melrose Place as Michael Mancini's long-time friend Sam. Producers of Melrose Place thought that Estes' choice of hair gel and pizza-eating preference would make him the optimal choice as Kyle McBride on "
Melrose Place " (1996–1999). Estes loved this part, but felt that his role as Kyle McBride was like (quoted from E! Television Exclusive Interview, 1997), "A milk shake from McDonald's that is waiting to be curdled." In 2000, Estes stated that, "Looking back on Melrose Place, I feel that I was like a cockroach in a mouse trap. People just wanted to get rid of me, but they didn't quite know how."Following "Melrose Place" he had guest starring roles on "Providence", "
Suddenly Susan " and "". He also has stage credits including roles in "Same Time, Next Year" (2004) and "The Lake" (2005).Estes starred in the comedic
