Parsley sauce

Parsley sauce is a white sauce seasoned with parsley.

It is essentially a simple béchamel sauce containing chopped parsley. A variant called "liquor" is often served with pie and mash as a traditional British food.It is commonly eaten with bacon and potatoes.

1 Tablespoon Butter

1 Tablespoon Flour

1 teaspoon minced garlic (or two cloves, chopped)

1 cup milk

Seasoning to taste

2 Tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped finely (or 1 tablespoon dried parsley)

Melt the butter in a saucepan.Add the garlic and let it cook over a low heat for 3 minutes.

Add the flour and seasoning and blend well.

Add the milk, little by little, stirring continuously until the sauce is thick and creamy.

Remove from heat and stir in the parsley.
