Ember Reichgott Junge

Ember Reichgott Junge (born 1953) is an attorney, radio personality, and former DFL State Senator from Minnesota, representing New Hope and surrounding communities. She was elected to the Senate at age 29 and served for a total of eighteen years. Reichgott Junge authored the first charter school law in the United States.

In 1998, she ran unsuccessfully for attorney-general. Reichgott Junge next ran for US Congress in 5th Congressional district in 2006. In the contest to replace retiring incumbent Martin Olav Sabo, Reichgott Junge placed in third in the DFL primary, trailing party endorsee Keith Ellison and former Sabo aide Mike Erlandson.

Ember pursues activities apart from politics; she has appeared on stage at the Lakeshore Players Community Theater in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
