The settlement gradually built up around a railway station on the
Buenos Aires Western Railway , the station was named after Carlos Casares, governor of Buenos Aires between 1875 and 1878. The town andPartido were founded onJanuary 8 1907 from territory taken fromNueve de Julio Partido andPehuajó Partido .National Sunflower Festival
Every November Carlos Caseres hosts the "Fiesta Nacional del Girasol".
