Stoney Creek High School is located in Rochester Hills, Michigan and is part of the Rochester Community Schools.

The nickname for its athletic team is the Cougars. The school mascot is Cosmo the cougar. The school colors are Vegas Gold and Millennium Blue.

History

Stoney Creek High began in 1997 when voters approved a bond issue for building improvements in the growing district. Despite controversy, the school board decided to name the school after the nearby historic village of Stoney Creek. The 320,000 sq. ft. high school opened in 2001 at a total cost of $44 million. The building first housed Rochester Adams students when their school was being renovated.

In 2006, the varsity football team went 8-1 in OAA division 3 in the regular season and lost 14-6 in the first round of the playoffs to Grosse Pointe North. The JV team won its division at 8-1 and the Freshman team went 3-6.

The current Stoney Creek Varsity Soccer Team, coached by Phil Moore founded by Kip Pichel, has acquired little to no success and has fallen short of winning their league title for two years, and they were rocked by all the other teams in the rochester district.

The Stoney Creek Varsity Cross Country teams have acquired a total of five league championships and four state qualifying teams. fact|date=October 2007

The Varsity Baseball team won their first league title in 2007.Stoney Creek's Varsity Softball team, coached by Kim McCool, also won their league in 2006

The Stoney Creek Varsity ice hockey team finished runner-up in its inaugural 2006 season. In 2007, the team won its league championship, sharing the title with Birmingham.

Stoney Creek's current girl's swim and dive team is coached by Traci Valasco.

They have come in second place to clarkston at the league meet in 2007, but are currently undefeated in their league.

The boys varsity swim team is amazing compared to avondale last year cause they have no one even near good to compete with our depth. do work at swimming
