As of 2006 it is owned by Entercom Portland LLC and runssports radio programming.The oldest station of this format, and possibly the oldest in the Pacific Northwest region, KFXX began in 1993 at AM 1520, which is now regional Mexican station KGDD. The call letters came from the days as "The X," a Hard rock station. KFXX moved to AM 910 (now KTRO) in 1999 and its current dial position in 2003. Both were part of ownership changes and station signal swaps. On March 19, 2004, KFXX swapped frequencies from 910 kHz with KOTK, which has since become KTRO.The Portland Radio Guide.
