The "Uzushio" class submarine was a class of submarine, in service with Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force which was a development of the "Asashio" class submarine.

*Displacement: 1,850 tonne (1,821 ton) standard, 3,600 tonne (3,543 ton) submerged
*Dimensions:
**Length: 72.0 m (234 ft)
**Width: 9.9 m (32 ft)
**Draught: 7.5 m (3 fathoms)
*Machinery: 1-shaft diesel-electric, 3,600bhp surface, Auto shp|7200|-1 submerged
*Armament: 6 533 mm torpedo tubes
*Complement: 80
*Speed: 12kt surface, 20kt submerged
*Names:
**"Uzushio" (launched on March 11, 1970, and deleted on March 24, 1987)
**"Makishio" (launched on January 27, 1971, and deleted in March 1988)
**"Isoshio" (launched on March 18, 1972, and deleted in March 1992)
**"Narushio" (launched on November 22, 1972, and deleted in March 1993)
**"Kuroshio" (launched on February 22, 1974, and deleted on December 1993)
**"Takashio" (launched on June 30, 1975, still in service as of|1995|lc=on)
**"Yaeshio" (launched on May 19, 1977, still in service as of|1995|lc=on)
