"Alles was zählt" ("All That Matters") is the name of a German daily soap opera broadcasted on RTL since 4 September 2006. It is the third daily soap on that channel after "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" and "Unter Uns".

The show takes places in Essen (and is actually filmed in Cologne), with the original plot revolving around Diana Sommer dreaming of becoming a world class ice skater. She falls for Julian Herzog, who eventually manages to get her signed up at the prestigious Steinkamp sport center.This originally very important ice skating plot element has been reduced a little and most stories now revolve around Diana and her circle of friends, family and enemies and their various relationships. In October 2007, one of the main plots was resolved and Diana and Julian were finally a couple. However, in November 2007 Julian died at the altar due to a brain haemorrhage during their wedding.

The series is produced by the Grundy UFA productions, the same company that is responsible for RTL's other daily soaps. In October 2007, this show and "Unter Uns" on RTL were part of the first ever crossover of two soap operas in Germany, when characters from "AWZ" visited a concert by Mars from "Unter Uns".

While LGBT characters are common on German television, "AWZ" marks a first by dealing with the coming out of a young Turkish boy, Deniz. Originally written as straight and the show's young 'macho' character, he gets to know Roman and realizes that he is gay.

Tanja Szewczenko is — like Diana in the plot — a famous German ice skater.
