Bernice Hansen

Bernice Hansen (born 1925) was a voice artist who did a number of female character voices for Warner Bros. cartoons in the 1930s and early-1940s. She also did male characters that required squeaky voices.

Hansen is often credited with voicing the mouse called Sniffles, although some researchers dispute that credit [ [http://www.conmicro.cx/~eocostello/wbcc/eowbcc-s.html#sniffles conmicro.cx ] ] . In fact, IMDb considers Gay Seabrook to be the voice of Sniffles [ [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0780413/ Gay Seabrook ] ] , as does Turner Classic Movies, which most often airs the Sniffles cartoons. Hansen, like all the Warner voice artists (except Mel Blanc) received no on-screen credits in the cartoons, and with several of the 1930s female voices (Hansen, Seabrook and Sara Berner [ [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0076700/ Sara Berner ] ] ) apparently having a similar sound, research on the matter has proven challenging.
