History

The program started on October 7, 2005. When it began, "Rotting Flesh Radio" was the first podcast for the haunted attraction industry.

2005-2006:For the first 4 months, "Rotting Flesh Radio" was 35 to 40 minutes a week keeping the shows very simple with key interviews and industry news updates. As the show proved itself to be a viable source for the industry, longer shows asked for by its listeners. In March 2006 the first 80 minute show debuted with the first contest having a sponsored weekly giveaway, this sponsor being a vendor of props. Starting in April 2006, the show began to debut new additions to the show other than the host, Jonathan. Haunted Einstein was a featured "tips and tricks" segment hosted by Ron and Jon, and a DVD release and review segment was also introduced by The Doctor and Nurse Raven (Wayne and Kathy). With the addition of added hosts to the show the show maintained a steady 79 to 80 minute show every week continuing with its main focus on haunted house industry related news and featured interviews from industry professionals being the primary listened to segment.

2007:In January 2007 it started to change the shows length based on information for that week. It was decided by its listeners in a poll that with mp3 players the show could exceed the previous 80 minute show limit. In February 2007 they added additional segments to the show with new voices and on-air personalities such as "Ask Granny".

July 2007 offered the first time a contest would be held to decide who would be the next on-air personality to the show. The results were Andrew, and his segment "The Chainsaw Buffet".

Haunted Einstein officially left "Rotting Flesh Radio" in show v.2.43 No.74 in 2006.

The Doctor and Nurse Raven officially left the show in March 2007.

"Rotting Flesh Radio" covered its first convention officially in March 2006 at Transworld's International Halloween, Costume, and Party Show. This was also the first time it was asked to be an official media sponsor and offer coverage of an event. This trend would continue in the haunted house industry for the show. In 2007 they were the official media sponsor for the Midwest Haunters Convention, Transworld's International Halloween, Costume, and Party Show, and HAuNTcon. the Haunted Attraction National Tradeshow and Convention.

Beginning in 2007, "Rotting Flesh Radio" began branching out into merchandise offering their own "Hot Sauce" and creating its own clothing line called "RFR Brand". It also created a social network for the haunted house industry under the name Haunt Universe. The show upgraded to a flash chat version of its live chat room, the Chat Graveyard, eliminating its previous java script version used since 2005.
