Hungarya local Slavonian landlord[3] that had possessions on both sides of the river Sava. As Hungarian domination over Bosnia grew, Borić became its supporter and gained the title of Ban of the newly created Banate of Bosnia.[4] In 1162-1163 a succession war erupted between the anti-Byzantine candidate (backed by Beloš, his former superior) and the pro-Byzantine Stephen IV, son of King Geza. Borić supported Beloš out of loyalty. Stephen IV succeeded the throne and sent Gottfried, who defeated Borić in 1163. Bosnia annexed by Hungary Ban
