Dagenham ,England . He is regarded by many experts as one of the most exciting prospects in British boxing. In 2003 whilst still an amateur, he won theABA featherweight championship when only of 18. Kevin made his professional debut in July 2003 when he knocked out Steve Quinn in the 1st round of their bout. Fifteen fights later with his record on 16-0 he finally fought for a title although it was only for the marginal IBF Inter-Continental Super Featherweight strap. He stopped Mohammed Medjadji in the sixth round to pick up the vacant belt for that particular bauble. In October 2006 he fought for the Commonwealth Super Featherweight title beating the Ghanain George Ashie on points.
British Champion
Mitchell added the British super-featherweight title to his Commonwealth belt when he stopped Carl Johannson in the ninth round of his fight on
9 March , 2008. The fight was on the undercard of David Hayes World Cruiserweight championship win over Enzo Macarrinelli and was a barnstormer.
