- Nancy Lawson
-
Nancy Lawson was one of the main villains on the soap opera "Another Life". She was played by Nancy Mulvey.
Nasty sister
The villainous Nancy was the half-sister of Terry Davidson (Mary Jean Feton), and was compared with another famous soap villain sibling, that of Love of Life's Meg Dale. She, like her sister, lived in the fictional community of Kingsley. Terry worked as a head nurse at Kingsley Hospital. Nancy was also the aunt of Terry's children, Lori Martin and Peter Davidson.
She could be matched for villainy by the equally nasty Miriam Carpenter Mason (Ginger Burgette), who had an axe to grind against Lori for supposedly sleeping with her husband, Paul Mason, (to get even with Lori, she slept with her husband); Miriam later changed and became a better person, embracing Christianity with a vengeance, as the result of a harrowing kidnapping and a drug overdose. (Ironically, Miriam's father was once Nancy's lover.)
In a nod to how the late soap operas The Secret Storm and Search for Tomorrow (Both were created by Roy Winsor who also helped create Another Life) began, Nancy and Terry's mother, Nora Lindsay; as well as Terry's husband, Scott Davidson, died in an automobile accident.
Presumably, Nancy remained in Kingsley and was still making trouble for her sister and her family. Unlike Miriam, who, at least, tried and ultimately succeeded to change her life for the better; Nancy didn't and reveled in making trouble for her long-suffering sister and her family.
However, Nancy, villainous though she was, was indeed vulnerable enough to ask for help when she needed it, when she was terrorized by a woman named Vanessa Fazan. She had Lori's husband help her exorcise the evil Vanessa.
