Luigi Sartor (born 30 January, 1975 in Treviso) is an Italian football defender. He currently plays for Ternana Calcio, usually as a fullback.

Club career

Sartor's Serie A career got off to an inauspicious start, as he scored an own goal past goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi on his debut for Juventus FC, in a 0-2 away defeat to ACF Fiorentina, on 6 December 1992.

After a fruitful stay at Vicenza Calcio (where he was reconverted to central defender, playing alongside Swede Joachim Björklund), followed by a 1997-98 runner-up league place with Inter Milan (also winning the UEFA Cup, repeating the feat with Parma AC the following season), Sartor joined AS Roma in 2002 in a 4 year-contract, but failed to become a team regular, with just 12 appearances in 2002-03, and was consecutively loaned to AC Ancona in the second half of 2003-04, and Genoa CFC in 2004-05, after 6 appearances for the country capital.

In the 2005-06 season, after 6 months of inactivity in football, Sartor moved to Hungary's MFC Sopron, joining Giuseppe Signori and manager Dario Bonetti.

In December 2006, Sartor was found guilty by a court of aggravated assault on two police officers, in an away Genoa match against Piacenza Calcio on 9 January 2005. [ [http://www.popolis.it/SezioneEspansa.aspx?EPID=22!2!22!300!ANSA275853! Sartor found guilty by court] it icon]

After a quick passage at Hellas Verona FC, Sartor joined Serie C1's Ternana Calcio, in January 2008.

International career

Internationally, Sartor was an undisputed starter as Italy conquered the 1996 under-21 European Championship, competing the same year at the Atlanta Olympic Games.

In April 1998, he debuted with the main squad in a friendly match against Paraguay, adding another four years later, against United States.
