Vyasarpadi Jeeva

Vyasarpadi Jeeva station is one of the oldest and famous known stations in the Northern part of Chennai. This place acts as the junction between the Central station train route and Beach line train route. Vyasarpadi is the name of the place and Jeeva is the name of veteran socialist leader Jeevanandam. In memory of his presence in Vyasarpadi the station is named as Jeeva.

A famous Shiva temple named 'Ravishwarar Temple - Murthy Iyengar Street, Vyasarpadi' which is built in the Chola's period is situated here still in very good condition. The lord shiva is named Ravishwarar. It is said the lord is worshipped by the Sun. The Sun also took bath in the temple tank (Bhrama Theertham) to get rid of his Bhrama Dosham. The temple also has the goddesses. The Sun god is placed inside the sanctum of lord shiva facing him. Those worshipping the lord shiva must also worship the Sun god. The temple has three sacred trees namely Vanni, Vilva and Naga Linga trees. Lot of people visit this temple in Sunday to get rid of various illness. The place is easily accessible from various parts of the city through train and bus facilities.

Football is being a total energitic game for the youths here. The famous Don Bosco Beautitudes School acts as a rehabilation cum Youth Association center for the youths around this area. The Don Bosco Matriculation School and its church are famous in chennai. The church has a fascinating Italian Architecture and a lovely place to pray. It is a Roman Catholic church.

There is a market place in the area and you can get it to it through buses, the stop is named "Vyasarpadi market". Vyasarpadi also has a arts & science college named "Ambedkar College of Arts and Science".
