Jim Blashfield (born
September 4 ,1944 inSeattle, Washington ) is an American filmmaker and media artist, best known for his short films such asSuspicious Circumstances ,The Mid-Torso of Inez , and his music videos from the 1980s and 90s forTalking Heads ,Joni Mitchell ,Nu Shooz ,Paul Simon ,Peter Gabriel ,Michael Jackson ,Tears for Fears andMarc Cohn .More recently he has collaborated with
Bill Frisell , theOregon Symphony andWeird Al Yankovic .Blashfield is the recipient of a
Cannes Golden Lion , aGrammy Award , and severalMTV nominations and awards.Other recent films include Bunnyheads, SuctionMaster and The Tasseled Loafers, an irreverent interpretation of
Hector Berlioz ' "Dream of a Witch's Sabbath" with music by the Czech Philharmonic. Recent multi-image installations include Brightwater (a work in progress), Running Dog with Cactus, and The Resurrectory, a collaboration with theLiminal Performance Group .External links
