Hayesfield School Technology College

Hayesfield School Technology College

Hayesfield School Technology College is a girls secondary school, with a co-educational sixth form, in Bath, England.

History

Hayesfield School was formed in 1973 when the City of Bath reorganised secondary education by merging grammar schools and secondary modern schools to form comprehensive schools. "West Twerton Secondary Modern School" and "City of Bath Girl's Grammar School" were merged to form Hayesfield School. The school was renamed "Hayesfield School Technology College" when it obtained Technology College status.

Academics

The school has specialist Technology College and Foundation school status. The school has 1,200 pupils and operates on two major sites about half a mile apart, one for the lower school (years 7 to 9) and the other for the upper school. The sixth form operates in a separate large house near the upper school.

Sixth Form

Hayesfield sports a co-educational sixth form, situated across the road from the 'upper school' in a house. Although the Year 13 at present has only 7 males, the co-educational aspect is growing and the Year 12 has at least 20.

The sixth form house has about 6 floors, with music technology on the top floor.
