Sandra Bezic (born
April 6 ,1956 inToronto ) is a former Croatian-Canadianfigure skater . She competed inpair skating with her brotherVal Bezic ; together, they won theCanadian Figure Skating Championships from 1970 - 1974 and placed ninth at the1972 Winter Olympics .Bezic is a well-known figure skating choreographer. Among the competitive programs to her credit are those used by
Barbara Underhill andPaul Martini in winning their World Championship title in 1984;Brian Boitano 's programs from the1988 Winter Olympics ;Kristi Yamaguchi 's winning programs from the1992 Winter Olympics ;Kurt Browning 's from the 1993World Figure Skating Championships ; andTara Lipinski 's from the1998 Winter Olympics . She also choreographed competitive programs forJill Trenary ,Chen Lu , andJoannie Rochette .For several years she was the director, co-producer, and choreographer for
Stars on Ice . She also choreographed for several TV specials including "Canvas of Ice", "Carmen on Ice", and "You Must Remember This".She served as a commentator for
NBC during the Salt Lake City and Torino Olympic Games, as well as theWorld Figure Skating Championships during the early 1990s and numerous other skating events broadcast by NBC over the years.Bezic is the author of "The Passion to Skate" (ISBN 1-57036-375-7), (ISBN 0-83626452-5).
She is credited as Marlon Brando's Skating coach in The Freshman (1990) and appears with him in the skating rink scene.
