Forty Green

Forty Green

Forty Green is a hamlet in the parish of Penn in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located in the Chiltern Hills near Beaconsfield.

The main visitor attraction in the hamlet is an old pub called The Royal Standard of England. The pub claims to be over 900 years old and to have evolved from a Saxon alehouse. The pub was not licensed until after Parliament passed The Beer Act 1830. The pub claims to have been an unlicensed alehouse and inn before this Act was passed.

Author Terry Pratchett grew up in Forty Green during the 1950s.
