Frank Kaderabek is the former principal trumpet of the
Philadelphia Orchestra and trumpet instructor of theCurtis Institute in Philadelphia. Born in Chicago, he studied withAdolph Herseth and moved to New York to study withHarry Glantz andNathan Prager . He was assistant/third trumpet with theChicago Symphony Orchestra and principal with theDetroit Symphony Orchestra before joining the Philadelphia Orchestra under chief conductorEugene Ormandy . Many of his students from Curtis now play in major orchestras.Frank also teaches at [http://www.wcupa.com West Chester University] where he serves as an adjunct faculty member. While there Frank gives all of his students one hour lessons every two weeks instead of half hour lessons every week saying that "You cannot accomplish anything worthwhile in only half an hour.....by that time you have only just said 'hello'". Frank is very big on being able to relax and play the trumpet. One of the ways he likes to relax is by doing the yoga pose called the lion.
