Phillip Swann

Phillip Douglas Swann (b. Milton, West Virginia, November 8, 1960; currently living in Los Angeles) is an American composer, songwriter, and record producer. He is the composer of the award winning musical comedy, “The People vs. Friar Laurence, the Man Who Killed Romeo and Juliet” which made its debuted at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre in Chicago. Other musicals by Swann include: "Play It Cool," "Shakespeare's Greatest Hits," “Trombone,” “Moms! The musical,” The Second City Theatricals production, and “deLEARious."

As staff songwriter and producer for DreamWorks SKG, Phillip Swann’s songs have been heard in both television and film and recorded by Clay Aiken, Lee Ann Womack, Lee Greenwood, John Berry, The Kinleys, Lisa Brokop, Keith Norris and Kristin Garner.

As a record producer, Swann’s credits include: Roberta Duchak, Dave Aguallo, Dan Namod, Jennifer Capelo, Adrina Thorpe, Greg Rowles and Helen Slater.

Phillip Swann is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. He sits on the board of directors of the Songwriters Guild of America and teaches songwriting at UCLA.

Phillip Swann is also the author of the suspense-thriller, The Mozart Conspiracy.
