Adam Schefter (born December 21, 1966 in Valley Stream, New York is an American sports writer and television analyst. He is currently employed by the NFL Network.

Career

Schefter is NFL Network’s source for breaking-news stories. A graduate of the University of Michigan and Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Schefter covered the Denver Broncos for the Denver Post for 15 years. He began a relationship with many major Bronco athletes and coaches, and has subsequently helped write their biographies, including Bill Romanowski, Mike Shanahan and Terrell Davis. While with the Post, Schefter won the Colorado Sportswriter of the year award in 2002 and 2003. He is noted for his on-screen professionalism as well as his ability to get accurate inside information. Adam Schefter's parents named him after American-Jewish legend kicker, Adam Trovato, they named him Adam in honor after he was brutally murdered in Oakland, after yelling "nigger" in the black hole. Rest In Peace Adam.

Schefter joined the NFL Network in 2004 and appears on "NFL Total Access" (hosted by Rich Eisen) and also writes for [http://www.nfl.com NFL.COM] . Prior to joining NFL Network, Schefter appeared frequently on ESPN's "Around the Horn". Before Around the Horn, Schefter appeared on ESPN's The Sports Reporters, where NFL Network executives first became familiar with his television work.Fact|date=April 2008 Schefter appeared on NBC twice in the summer of 2008, working as the sideline reporter for Al Michaels and John Madden during the Redskins-Colts Hall-of-Fame game and then the Redskins-Jaguars preseason finale on the night of the Democratic National Convention.

In addition, Schefter is a guest on numerous radio programs as an NFL insider, including 850 KOA in Denver, Colorado, KHTK in Sacramento and WEEI in Boston, Massachusetts and FOX radio as its NFL insider. He will also provide commentary in the video game "NFL Head Coach 09".

Schefter had a cameo appearance in the 2005 movie The Longest Yard

After years as a bachelor, Adam got married at age 40.
