Robert James Savage (born 1960) is an English footballer who played as a midfielder for Wrexham, Stoke City, A.F.C. Bournemouth, Bradford City, Bolton Wanderers and Knowsley United.
5 ft 7 in (170 cm), 10 stone 01 lb (64 kg), he was an apprentice with Liverpool but did not play in the League for them. He played for Wrexham (27 matches / 10 goals) on loan, Stoke City (7/0), Bournemouth (82/18), Bradford City (11/0) and Bolton Wanderers (87/11).
In September 1987 Savage signed for Bolton for a fee of £30,000, making his debut against Halifax Town on 12 September, and scoring his first Bolton goal a week later at Torquay. On 7 May 1988 He scored the winning goal against his old club Wrexham to give Bolton promotion from the 3rd division. Savage's final professional appearances were on 7 April 1990, playing against Hamilton Accies at the Nou Camp. During the match he broke his leg, and was later forced to retire due to the injury.
