Managerial and coaching career
Gee started his managerial career with Dunkirk.[2] After Gary Mills departed Tamworth to coach at Coventry City Gee took over as manager in 2002 after "a lot of soul-searching".[2] He took them into the Football Conference from the Southern Football League Premier Division, winning the title by a 13 point margin in the 2002–03 season.[3] The same season saw Gee also take his side to the FA Trophy Final at Villa Park, where Tamworth were beaten 2–1 by Burscough on 18 May 2003.[4] He announced in April 2004 that he would resign from his post at Tamworth at the end of the 2003–04 season.[5]
He was appointed assistant manager at Notts County on 10 May to be reunited Mills,[6] and after Mills was sacked on 4 November Gee insisted he still remained as assistant manager.[7]
Gee went on to join Alfreton Town as assistant manager to Mills on 25 May 2005,[8] before being appointed as manager on 26 January 2007 following Mills' return to Tamworth.[9] However, on 30 January, Gee decided to join Mills at Tamworth.[10]
Gee joined York City as assistant manager on 13 October 2010 following Mills' appointment as manager.[11]
