Henry F. Wojtaszek (born 1962) is a political leader in
New York and the Chairman of the Niagara County Republican Committee. He is also a former candidate for theU.S. House of Representatives .Wojtaszek, a former
U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General officer, has been involved in political affairs in Western New York for a number of years. He was Republican Party Chairman inNorth Tonawanda, New York for a period in the mid 1990s. Wojtaszek was elected City Attorney ofNorth Tonawanda for two year terms in 1997 and 1999 and for a four year term in 2001.Wojtaszek first became Republican County Chairman of Niagara County in September 2000. He stepped down as chairman in June 2002, when he announced his candidacy for Congress against Democratic Congresswoman
Louise Slaughter . Wojtaszek opposed Slaughter in the newly drawn 28th district, which includes Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Rochester. Wojtaszek lost to Slaughter by a margin of 62% to 38%, Wojtaszek fared better against Slaughter than any of her subsequent opponents.Following his defeat, Wojtaszek was re-elected to the county party chairmanship in November 2002. In the summer of 2005, Wojtaszek resigned as city attorney, after joining the law firm of Harris Beach. In June 2006, Wojtaszek was elected as a Vice-Chairman of the New York State Republican Party.
