Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina
- Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina
"Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina" (in English, Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina, known also as "UCA") is a private university with branches in several cities of Argentina. Its main seat is in Buenos Aires, and there are faculties in Paraná, Rosario and Mendoza.
The university was first projected during the assembly of the Argentine Episcopacy in 1956, after the passing of a law-decree that authorized the creation of private universities. It was founded officially on 7 March 1958 (on the holiday of St. Thomas Aquinas), under the advocation of "Santa María de los Buenos Aires" (Saint Mary of the Fair Winds).
