Kenneth J. Hsu (zh-tsp|t=許靖華|s=许靖华|p= Xǔ Jìnghuá; born
July 7 ,1929 ),is a scientist and geologist. He was born inNanjing ,China in 1929. He studied at theNational Central University ,Ohio State University , andUniversity of California, Los Angeles . Hsu has been working withSwiss Federal Institute of Technology since 1963. He has received many prestigious awards including the Twenhofel Medal,Wollaston Medal andPenrose Medal . His most famouspopular science works are "The Great Dying " and "The Mediterranean was a Desert " (which concerns his work deciphering theMessinian Salinity Crisis ). He has spent extensive time working as a professor atETH Zurich . He also published a book on his theory about the death of the famous musicianMozart , titled “Mozart, Amadeus and Magdalena”, with a Chinese translation titled “莫扎特的愛與死”.
