Sergio Bonelli (born
December 2 ,1932 ) is an Italian comic book author and publisher.Sergio Bonelli was born in
Milan , the son ofGian Luigi Bonelli , the creator ofTex Willer and many other Italian comic strips. In order to distinguish himself from his father, he usually wrote his scripts under the pen name Guido Nolitta. He made his debut as a scriptwriter in 1957, with the translation into Italian the Spanish series "Verdugo Ranch ", and he wrote its concluding episode (artwork byFranco Bignotti ). In 1958 Bonelli created his first character "Un ragazzo nel Far-West", also illustrated by Franco Bignotti. In late 1950s and early 1960s Bonelli wrote several episodes of "Little Ranger ".In 1960 Bonelli wrote "
Il Giudice Bean ", a mini-series of six adventures, illustrated bySergio Tarquinio . In same year he met the illustratorGallieno Ferri , with whom he created "Zagor " in 1961. Bonelli wrote for Zagor almost all stories until 1980 (number #182). In 1975 he created "Mister No " series.In 1977 Bonelli wrote the script of the book "L'Uomo del Texas" (illustrated by
Aurelio Galleppini ). He also wrote numerous stories for Tex Willer, starting from late 1970s with number #183. In 1990 he created the mini-series "River Bill" (artwork byFrancesco Gamba ).He is the president of
Sergio Bonelli Editore (former CEPIM), Italy's major comics publisher (titles include "Tex", "Dylan Dog ", "Mister No" and many others).External links
