Open Notebook is an open source concept/idea/implementation of system that will allow documents/novels/dissertations etc. to be electronically designed using a graphical interface.

An end user will be able to design a template for the type of document they are working on, be it novel, scientific paper or thesis which will then allow construction. The project goals are:

  1. Cross-platform for all major operating systems.
  2. Template developers to share their designs and generate an extensive template library
  3. System is extendable by design, easily allowing new features to be added
  4. Well documented, all API's and configuration files are documented at a professional level
