Dr Richard Alexis Zann is a noted Australian
ornithologist . After taking his PhD in1972 at theUniversity of Queensland he moved toLatrobe University . The species that has been the main focus of his ornithological research is theZebra Finch . In1998 he was awarded theD.L. Serventy Medal by theRoyal Australasian Ornithologists Union for outstanding published work on birds in the Australasian region. he is also known for his studies onisland biogeography onKrakatau ,Indonesia .References
