Scottish Rugby Union , located in the centre of Edinburgh at Inverleith Park inEdinburgh , playing in the East of Scotland League Division Two. The Club won the Edinburgh and District League in 2005-6 winning promotion to the newly created East of Scotland league following a restructuring of theBT League Championship Divisions 4 and 5 in 2006.Founded in 1920, Edinburgh Northern has a fine tradition of being one of the friendly clubs in Edinburgh. It runs the largest Sevens tournament in Scotland and, in addition, from 2008 an 'Over 35's Tens tournament. The Club fields regularly two XVs in competitive leagues, social sides, and also has an additional 'Over 35's' team, the Gentlemen of Northern, for players who wish to continue playing in their latter years.
