Amaseno is a "comune" (municipality) in the Province of Frosinone in the Italian region Lazio, located about 100 km southeast of Rome and about 30 km south of Frosinone. Its inhabitants are primarily farmers.

Amaseno borders the following municipalities: Castro dei Volsci, Monte San Biagio, Prossedi, Roccasecca dei Volsci, Sonnino, Vallecorsa, Villa Santo Stefano.

The village is very ancient and named in the "Aeneid", a lot of Amaseno's people have immigrated in the United States of America, in Canada and South America (especially in Brazil).

The Catholic church situated at the village's center, St. Mary of Amaseno, is famous for its relic of St. Laurence, the ancient Roman deacon martyered in the Third Century. A vile of the martyr's blood is enshrined there, and every 10 August on his feast day, the day on which his martyrdom is commemorated, it liquifies. Pilgrims come to witness this supernatural confirmation of his holiness every year and bear personal witness to the authenticity of the miracle. The liquefaction may occur differently from year to year, but usually begins during first Vespers on the eve of the feast day and lasts through the entire feast day. The relicquary vile has been verified by scientists to contain true blood, along with a piece of skin and some fat and ash. The cathedral was consecreated in 1165 and since then the village was popularly known as the "Valley of St. Laurence", as the village is situated in a amphitheater-like valley.

The principal food product is the mozzarella of bufala, and other important product is oil of olive and "marzolina" a special cheese made by milk of goat.
