Toronto Blue Jays , spending six years with them before moving to theMinnesota Twins in by|1986. In his rookie season he became the sixth player inAmerican League history to hit ahome run on the first Major League pitch he ever saw. He ended the by|1977 season with a .284batting average in 122 games as the regular Blue Jays left fielder. He enjoyed a good season in by|1979, appearing a career-high 132 games while hitting .278 with 33 extra-bases. In by|1980, he recorded career-numbers in average (.300), home runs (15) and RBI (47). The next two years he shared outfield duties with George Bell,Lloyd Moseby ,Garth Iorg andBarry Bonnell , and also saw action as adesignated hitter .
