Sani Bečirovič (born May 19 1981 in Maribor, SR Slovenia, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian professional basketball player. He is 6'5" or 196 cm tall and he plays both the point guard and shooting guard positions. He is currently with the pro club Lottomatica Roma.

He was selected in the second round of the 2003 NBA Draft by the NBA club the Denver Nuggets with the 46th overall pick.

Club career

He played in the Slovenian League for KK Bistrica in 1995-96, Maribor Ovni in 1996-97, KK Pivovarna Laško in 1997-99, and Olimpija Ljubljana in 1999-01, where he won the 2001 Slovenian League Championship and the 2000 and 2001 Slovenian Cup. He played with KK Krka in 2003-04, in the Italian League with Virtus Bologna in 2001-2003, where he won the 2002 Italian Cup), Casti Group Varese (2004-2005. He won the 2005 Italian SuperCup) and with Climamio Bologna in 2005-2006.

Bečirovič won the three-point shootout contest at the 2007 Greek League All Star Game, by hitting the last money ball and beating his then Panathinaikos BC teammate and the contest's former champion Dušan Šakota.

International career

He was part of the Slovenian National Basketball Team at the Eurobasket 1999, Eurobasket 2001, Eurobasket 2005 and the 2006 FIBA World Championship.

Personal

*He has lived in Slovenska Bistrica, Slovenia, since he was a child.
*His father Mehmed Becirovic, is a well known basketball coach, who coaches in the Ukraine.
*He has two children with his wife Simona, named Samija and Kiam.
