"Gymnoscopelus piabilis" is a lanternfish in the family Myctophidae, found circumglobally in the southern hemisphere between about 46° S and 52° S, at depths of below 100 at night. Its length is about 15 cm. It is a mesopelagic and benthopelagic species.
