Alan Pasqua (born
June 28 ,1952 inNew Jersey ) is a jazz pianist and composer who co-composed theCBS Evening News theme. He also has had an extensive career in pop and rock music. He studied atIndiana University and theNew England Conservatory of Music .Pasqua grew up in

After performing at
Carnegie Hall he joined jazz drummerTony Williams 's "The New Tony Williams Lifetime". After doing two albums with him he "crossed-over" to rock joiningEddie Money 's band and followed this by joining as keyboardist in Bob Dylans's band. Alan recorded two albums withBob Dylan ,Bob Dylan at Budokan and Street-Legal. In the 1980s he performed with Starship on the album "No Protection" and joinedCarlos Santana as keyboardist on Marathon, Zebop and onHavana Moon . He would also be a founding member of the rock band Giant.Later his two solo works were in jazz and he also would work in the orchestra of his former teacher
Thad Jones .Personal life
He is currently an Assistant Professor in Jazz Studies at the
University of Southern California . He has recently (2007) married Lina Brunkell (Sweden). He has one daughter, Greta (1998), from a prior marriage.Discography and Filmography
