San Giuliano Terme is a "comune" (municipality) in the Province of Pisa in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 60 km west of Florence and about 7 km northeast of Pisa. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 30,757 and an area of 91.7 km².All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.]

San Giuliano Terme borders the following municipalities: Calci, Capannori, Cascina, Lucca, Pisa, Vecchiano, Vicopisano.

Main sights

The area of the Pisa hills was already an attraction for enlightened travellers in the first half of the 1700s with the growth of the thermal spa of San Giuliano, just like those narrated by Carlo Goldoni and which we can continue to enjoy today.Among the prominent houses in the region are:

*Villa di Corliano- This villa is a “Palazzo of Gentlemen, with an external staircase oin front, with a gallery at the main door, with a spring and surrounding land for the use of the aforesaid palazzo” by the Florentine "Vincenzo Pitti" who defined it as “the most beautiful mansion that there is near Pisa” on 1636. The "Palazzo al Borgo di Corliano" [http://www.corliano.it/inglese/villa.php] , renovated by the architect Ignazio Pellegrini on 1757, is externally decorated with graffiti, typical of the Florentine mannerism style, since 1536. Harpies, crowns of fruit and flowers, birds and other symbols represent the virtues of “Fortitude, Abundance and Fortune”. The internal frescoes are painted by Andrea Boscoli on 1592.
